Sanatan Kriya: Essence of Yoga
Sanatan Kriya: Essence of Yoga
It was observed by me in the course of my teachings that mostly the students who came were more interested in their present physical well- being than their spiritual evolution. As spiritual evolution is not possible without experiencing financial and emotional stability and physical well being, I took recourse to ancient Indian sciences of Yoga, Spiritual Healing and Nigams and synthesized a simple kriya- "SANATAN KRIYA" (the complete kriya , to aid a normal being in achieving a balance between the material and the spiritual and evolving on both planes simultaneously. This seemingly basic level of the kriya is enough to experientially explain to the reader the power of the ancient Indian sciences.

About the Book
For the spiritual aspirant or the seeker, or for someone seriously interested in living a balanced and healthy life and experiencing the real bliss (ananda), this book is the undisputed ‘gyan’ in the purest sense. It is an attempt to explain the endless divinity in each speck of creation. It also takes us on a journey to experientially understand the power of ancient yogic practices.
This book takes us back to the ancient practice of yog where transmission of knowledge is through communication to the shishya (disciple) who in turn unravels the wisdom by applying it and experiencing it in his daily life.
Sanatan Kriya, is a practice that helps the practitioner achieve physical, emotional and mental balance and throws light on all aspects of manifested creation… thought, karma, prana, koshas, kundalini, Shiv-Shakti, emotions.… As the book says the practice of the kriya would definitely open the doorways to the inner and the outer world.
The book really grows beyond its literary mould and presents a unique opportunity to understand a ‘being’.
The Beginning
“Imagine a time where nothing exists, not even you. there is no matter, no sky, no light, there is not even space, just shoonya-an absolute zero. To make it easier for us to understand this concept, let us do a simple exercise.
Close your eyes and observe.
What do you see? An endless expanse of darkness, or may be some colours, endless space, but all this seemingly unending expanse, all this which has no beginning or end, all this which seems everywhere but still nowhere- all this within us? if so, where?....... “
The Koshas and Pranic Body
“We know that the planet we live in is made up of layers- crust, top soil, rocks, boulders, and the hot magnetic core. Even the atmosphere is made up of layers: troposphere, stratosphere and ionosphere. Why just the atmosphere even trees have layers, as do fruits and grains. Why just these things even human body has layers, viz skin, muscles, fat, organs and bones. It is clear that all that we see is made of layers. .The interesting common factor in all this is that the deeper we go, the grosser the layer and vice versa.
Now what if someone tells us that we as human beings are not just this body, just like the planet earth has layers- some visible to the naked eye and some not, similarly we too have layers- 5 of them! The ancient rishis of India in their states of deep dhyan had certain revelations about the whole composite existence of the human being... these were seen and described as the annamaya kosha, pranamaya kosha, manomaya kosha, vigyanmaya kosha and anandmaya kosha……….. ”
NOTE: “Yoga can only be achieved at the feet of the Guru and not by reading books or taking recourse to listening to CDs. The latter is good enough only to satisfy the intellectual quest and bring a seeker to the door, the Guru will open this door. The actual journey begins only with the grace of a Guru.”
